MwStop inline check valve is a wastewater backflow preventer as well as flood protection

MwStop® CHECK VALVE

THE INTELLIGENT BACKWATER PROTECTION UP TO DN1800

Backwater protection

Odor control

Easy Installation

An MwStop® inline check valve protects your building against high water levels, flooding and overflow. The integrated membrane solidly closes the pipe leading to the property in the event of backwater, e.g. during heavy weather events or failure of the pumping station. This functionality provides you the confidence that your building is protected against flooding due to backwater

Bad odors from the sewage system are efficiently prevented from entering the building by the MwStop® backflow check valve. Because the innovative membrane closes the pipe when it is not in use, it prevents from unpleasant odors. Another positive effect is the optimal protection of the property against pests penetrating through the sewer system

The MwStop® check valve can be easily installed in any standard pipe size. Retrofitting in existing networks is also possible at any time in the simplest way. As a result, the inline check valve can be installed without any problems in new construction projects, and as well be retrofitted into existing buildings water infrastructure.

FUNCTIONING of the MwStop® check valve

As soon as water runs through the pipe in flow direction, the membrane of the MwStop® backflow valve is subject to increased pressure. This pushes the diaphragm upwards so that water can flow freely below the membrane. The rising water pressure triggers a controlled surge flushing, which in its turn ensures the regular removal of present sediments. And what is more, another functionality of the MwStop® backwater check valve, is that the tight seal reliably prevents unpleasant odors in the pipe network.

As soon as water runs through the pipe in opposite flow direction, the membrane of the MwStop® sewer check valve fills up, and as a result prevents the water against back flow effectively. The backwater height varies depending on the MwStop® model (with a maximum of 8,000mm).

MTA MwStop® inline check valve function explained as water flow regulator and non return waste valve

One MwStop® – 3 FUNCTIONS

  • Backflow prevention
  • Odor control
  • Surge flushing

One MwStop® – MANY ADVANTAGES

  • extremely low pressure drop
  • absence of moving parts
  • for all pipe materials, and sizes
  • very simple installation
  • long lifespan

LONG LIFESPAN

The technical design of the MwStop® no-return valve, engineered to regulate water flow optimal, and combined with the use of high quality materials, will guarantee a long lifespan. Therefore an MwStop® inline check valve provides high added value for every object.

INSTALLATION

Installation of MwStop® is easy as pie. An MwStop® check valve can be installed in practically any pipe, also as retrofitted, in just a few minutes. Therefore, the inline check valve immediately provides effective protection against floods, foreign bodies and annoying odors. The wide range of diameters and lengths of MwStop® check valves ensures that you can be supplied the right MwStop® model for any application. Areas of application include, among others, water back flow protection in the sewage system, use in rainwater pipes or, for example, to prevent the formation of odors in combined sewers.

MwStop® valves can be installed in a wide variety of ways in any position. Full functionality is provided installed both horizontal to as well as vertical.

BACKWATER HEIGHTS

MAXIMUM BACKWATER PROTECTION

  • The standard MwStop® models provide water back flow protection up to a height of 5,000mm water column.
  • The soft version of the MwStop® check valve, provides water back flow protection up to a height of 3,000mm water column
  • Special designs up to 8,000mm water back flow protection are available upon request.
TYPES

DIFFERENT MWSTOP® SIZES FOR ALL COMMON PIPE DIAMETERS.

The MwStop® backwater check valves are available as standard up to DN1800 and are thus available for practically all common internal pipe diameters and pipe materials. We are happy to provide special sizes on request!

MWSTOP® STANDARD

FOR SLOPES ≥2%

In order to ensure the full functionality of the standard version of the MwStop® check valves, a slope of 2% or more is required. More specific, in order to allow the membrane to open efficiently, a certain water pressure on the MwStop® diaphragm is required. This minimum pressure also ensures that controlled surge flushing is triggered when the membrane is opened.

MwStop® SOFT

FOR LOW SLOPES

A product version with softer membrane material is used for installations with a slope of less than 2% (min. 1%). It ensures that the MwStop® in these installations opens reliably, and as well supports the safe removal of accumulated wastewater, including any deposits.

MATERIALS

HOUSING

The housing of the standard MwStop® is made of 1.4404 stainless steel. For sizes up to DN200, an alternative variant of PVC/PE housing can be provided in installations that form a part of a pipe.

MEMBRANE

The membrane of MwStop® up to DN1800 is made of high quality EPDM. The membrane is available in two different versions (standard and soft)

MwStop® Check Valve – APPLICATIONS

There are numerous causes for backwater in rainwater or sewage pipes. For instance, heavy rain or pipe blockages. Also an operational failure in the pumping station, as well as other overloading incidents of the sewage system could cause issues. Another application example is the backwater from water bodies caused by floods. The large quantities of water that suddenly occur can quickly exceed the capacity of the sewage system.

The MwStop® inline check valve protects against backwater, water ingress and foreign bodies in buildings, sewage and rainwater pipes. In addition, the check valve is an effective protection against odor nuisance from the sewer system.

FIELD OF APPLICATION

MwStop® inline check valves protect effectively against backwater, flooding and additionally against odor nuisance.

DIMENSIONS UP TO DN1800

  • Main collector
  • Sewer pipes
  • Storm water pipes
  • Clarification basins

BUILDING PROTECTION

  • Building protection against flooding
  • Backwater protection
  • Backwater protection through floor inlets
  • It is also important to note: The building owner is always responsible for protection against backwater.

FLOOD PROTECTION

  • Public sewer
  • Backwater protection
  • Regulation of waste water
  • Triggering of surge flushing

ODOR VALVE

MwStop® is the perfect solution for nuisance caused by odor-intensive substances from the sewage system, for example during longer dry periods, or in facilities and buildings that are not used all year round, so that the siphons dry out and unpleasant odors arise.

HOTEL BUSINESS, HOLIDAY HOMES

  • when the siphon dries out after dry periods
  • for irregularly used real estate objects
